Compositional Analysis

The liquid analysis is conducted using a Hewlett Packard 6890 gas chromatograph (GC) with the ability to analyse oils to C36+.

The sample is introduced into the GC by a cool on column injector and the sample passes through a durabond fused silica apillary column of 30 meters in length.

 The capillary column is located within a computer controlled oven. 

The gas analysis is conducted using a Hewlett Packard 6890 gas chromatograph, with the sample being introduced into the GC by partial pressure charge. The sample passes through several columns located within computer controlled ovens.

The gas chromatograph is linked to a computer data logging system and sample peak integration conducted using the latest commercially available software provided by ChromPerfect. 

Below is a typical chromatogram produced by a Hewlett Packard 6890 gas chromatography as used by KAZPETROTEST; the area of each peak is determined used ChromPerfect integration software. The gas chromatography set up allows the analysis to be extended to C 36+ and also allows individual isomers such as benzene, toluene, xylenes and other cyclic and aromatics components to be determined.
